While writing this song I was influenced by my daughters’ love of swimming and sailing. One summer they created their own mermaid tails and pretended to be washed onto a deserted isle. Watching them led me to my own thoughts and dreams of past nautical adventures. You will notice that this song has an opening and ending “ocean” effect that instills the unknown of the seven seas into my heart every time I perform the piece.
